Allu Arjun With Pushpa 2 To Clash With Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki? Here’s The Reality Behind The Rumours

Allu Arjun is riding high on the success of his blockbuster film Pushpa, which broke several records at the box office. The film, directed by Sukumar, showcased Allu as a sandalwood smuggler and Rashmika Mandanna as his love interest. The film was praised for its action, music, and performances. Recently, there were reports that Pushpa 2 has locked its release date and it is none other than December 22, 2023. This date also happens to be the same day when Shah Rukh Khan’s much-awaited film Dunki is slated to hit the screens. Dunki, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, stars Taapsee Pannu as the female lead and is based on a Punjabi boy who takes a donkey flight to Canada. The film is produced by Hirani Films and Red Chillies Entertainment.

If these reports are true, then it would mean that Allu Arjun will face tough competition from Shah Rukh Khan at the box office. Both films belong to different genres and have their own fan following. However, both films will also eat into each other’s business and affect their collections.

But now, it seems that these reports are nothing but baseless rumors. According to a reliable source quoted by Pinkvilla, Pushpa 2 is not releasing in December 2023 but in May 2024 or later. The source said, “Sukumar is known for his perfection and he is leaving no stone unturned to bring the best cinematic experience for the audience on the big screen. Hence, there is no chance that Pushpa 2 can be released in December 2023. Sukumar doesn’t want to rush to complete the shoot, so the makers are eyeing to release in May 2024 or after. The release window currently decided is between May and July. But there is no way it is releasing before May.”

Well, this news will surely disappoint those who were looking forward to seeing Allu Arjun and Shah Rukh Khan clash at the box office. But it will also relieve those who were worried about their favorite stars losing out on their potential earnings.

Meanwhile, Pushpa 2 will also feature Ranveer Singh in a cameo role as a cop who introduces Pushpa to the audience. This will be Ranveer’s first collaboration with Allu Arjun and Sukumar. The film will also have several other big names from Bollywood and South cinema making special appearances.

Pushpa 2 is produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Muttamsetty Media. The film will release in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada languages.
